The Calm Before the Storm

Actually, it's the calm before the cold front. It's supposed to get down to 60 degrees F tonight and tomorrow's high is supposed to be 58, as opposed to today's high of 84! Crazy weather.

I'm a little on the high side of my range. I've been fuming about the parental situation all day - and thought I'd had enough room to have a soda. Oops. On the bright side, since my goal is to stay to the lower side of my calorie range, I have room to goof within reason ;)

breakfast:
French Toast made with Cinnamon Raisin Bread, one large egg, and one egg white
2 Jimmy Dean Fresh Taste Fast! Turkey Sausage patties
1/2 cup syrup

lunch:
ham, swiss, and grey poupon on pumpernickel
Greek Salad with 2 tbsp feta cheese, and 1 tbsp Greek Vinaigrette

dinner:
1 pork loin chop with 1 serving pork shake n bake
1 single serving Mott's Cinnamon Applesauce cup
1/2 acorn squash, baked with 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 pat of butter, and a dusting of cinnamon
1 can Sprite

snacks:
My obligatory coffee with Vanilla Chai Coffee Creamer

totals:
calories: 1,963
carbs: 269
fat: 65
protein: 78

I feel like I'm getting into a rut with just posting my meals and that's all.

My depression is icky right now. Not HORRIBLE, so don't worry, but I'm just constantly feeling blue. I can't even put words to it yet.

Falling Off the Wagon

When you fall off the wagon, you usually beat yourself up, right?

For me, it usually sends me into a kind of a tail spin where I figure I've already screwed up - what's it matter? The thing I don't think about is that it DOES matter. It matters that I'm psychologically giving myself an out. It matters that I'm putting myself in worse shape than before. And dammit, I'm not going to do it this time!

For the past week, I have eaten SO much fried foods that I'm surprised my arteries aren't completely clogged. Fried shrimp, fried fish, fried hushpuppies, fried crabcakes, fried macaroni and cheese. Not to mention all the potato chips, french fries, brownies (thanks to my darling baker of a sister), and soda.

I'm making a stand.

It's bound to happen again, but that's alright. Indulging a couple times a year isn't nearly as bad as indulging (our should I say binging?) EVERY day of the year. I weighed this morning - I'm back up to 302, but that's alright. I'm DETERMINED to lose it again.

Life's a learning process - and I just have to learn moderation ;)

Who's got 2 thumbs and is a complete slacker?

This girl!

I've been horrible with a capital H! Thursday, Friday, and today I've neglected to even log what I've eaten and don't even get me started on this past weekend. Yeesh. Between the bratwurst, the super garlicky knots, and all the freakin' french fries, I'm surprised I'm not dead.

Next week, we'll be at the beach. YAY! The question is - to be good or bad? I guess, all else fails, I need to log what I eat, even if I go over. I'll be damned if I'm going to miss all of my Mom's yummy fresh seafood feasts :)

I'm hoping to leave between Saturday and Monday and then come home next Friday. It's pretty much a couples weekend this year, since my brother's at school - me and James, my parents and my baby sister and her husband. It'll be fun!

I don't think Lord of the Rings trivial pursuit will be the same without my know-it-all brother tho ;)

The Hatteras Schlump

Opinions needed, please. And let's not get into the whole bathingsuit factor.

Who says I can't?

Marshmallow has inspired me.

My 6th Anniversary is coming up on September 8th and I am going to get a HOT dress to wear out that night. So here are a couple dresses that I'm thinking of:

My sister was against me wearing a strapless bridesmaid dress to her wedding. Who says I can't wear one?

Lovely Figments

I've been blogging here for just over 2 weeks, and I just have to say that I LOVE having a WL blog! I have the coolest people leave comments!

It's like having my own little support system :) Thanks ya'll!

(And I could've sworn I'd blogged that I was going to call my readers "figments", like my adorable friend, Jamie, but I can't find it on either blog. Weird. Dementia's setting in a little early ;)

I just don't get it...

Last night, James and I were watching Celebrity Fit Club 4. Vincent Pastore from the Sopranos is on this season. He's 5'11" and around 250 lbs (I think?) - He looks so much bigger than me! I'm not complaining, but what the hell? Where am I hiding the fat? Is it all in my boobs?

Monday Meals

breakfast:
  • 2 Mini French Toast Flatout Wraps
  • Scrambled eggs with 1 large egg and 1 egg white
  • 3 Slices Louis Rich turkey bacon

lunch:
  • 3 Tbsp Sam's Choice Indulgent Trail Mix (I wasn't feeling so hot around lunchtime and couldn't bring myself to eat my actual lunch)
dinner:
  • Salmon Burger on a hamburger roll with 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 Serving Waffle Fries
snack:
  • Coffee with 4 tbsps Pumpkin Pie flavored coffee creamer (I think they're getting ready for Thanksgiving a little early ;)
  • 1 Yoplait Strawberry Smoothie
totals (so far):
calories: 1275
carbs: 173
fat: 43
protein: 49

Maybe I'll just eat a couple of my 100 cal pudding's and be way low on everything.

I went to the grocery store and stocked up on some healthy eats - chicken livers and onions (Yum!), Salmon Burgers, Brown Rice, Turkey sausage for breakfast, eggs, and skim milk. I wanted some zuchinni, but theirs didn't look all that great. I also wanted some lean pork chops, but I couldn't find the freakin' shake n' bake! What kind of (American) grocery store doesn't have S n' B?

At lunch, I ran out to Avenue in hopes of finding some size 24 Tall jeans - I was in luck! They had a bunch on sale for $19.99, so I splurged and bought 2 pairs - a dark blue pair and a black pair. They're REALLY long *drool*

Nah, I've gotta go cos my house is on fire

Yesterday, James and I went to a local music store so he could look at guitars and I could check out their selection of keyboards. So, James went his way and I went mine. I had my hands stuffed in my pockets looking at keyboards when this guy (who works there) comes up to me:

Guy: Hi, I'm so-and-so - are you looking for anything in particular?
Me: Nah, I'm just looking around
G: How long have you played?
M: I played on and off for a few years, but I'm looking to pick it back up again
G: I could tell - you were looking at it like an old friend
M: *laugh* (and internally roll my eyes)
G: Have you done any recording?

That just about did me in. I just wanted to say "Dude, I'm married - and my husband's the jealous type" heh. It went on for a couple more minutes like that.

He asked if he could show me a couple keyboards and I told him that I'm just looking for now. Phew!

So, the question is - was he just trying to sell me something, or was he hitting on me? Either way, it just about blew me away - especially since I hadn't showered that day!

Lazy Sunday

I think I deserved it after yesterday.

I didn't do as well as I had hoped with eating. I realized, after a decently healthy breakfast that my darling husband had ready for me when I work up, that I didn't PLAN anything healthy for Sunday. When I went shopping on Friday night, I'd just been thinking about indulging myself on Saturday. Dammit. On the bright side, I only had *1* soda today. Whee!

So, next weekend - more planning.

I've gotten my exercise....

..for the MONTH.

Good lord, I'm exhausted. This afternoon we mowed our lawn. I should've taken pictures. The weeds (Yes, we have no grass) were about a foot tall. It took 4 of us (myself and my husband, my sister and her husband) to get our football field sized lawn down. My brother in law had to go ahead of whoever was mowing at the time and weed wack first. Yeesh. It was the first time I'd ever mowed!

I'm going to fall over and pass out now.

James is still out there finishing up, even with the light rain. He's a trooper when he puts his mind to it.

Between that and the digestive troubles I've had since last night, I should lose a few lbs... EVEN with indulging today.

Blogger Beta

I'm messing around with Blogger Beta - excuse the mess until I can figure out how to get my template back ;)

Side note: So apparently, editing the raw html isn't enabled yet. Grrrrr. I want my little yoga lady back!

I joined the Fat Fighter Directory this week and SO many people have stopped by and said Hi - it's so encouraging. Thank you!

New Template

I love this new template by Zoot!

The chicky is a little on the skinny side, but that's alright. I'm comfortable, even proud, of the fact that I'll never be that skinny. No matter what, I'll always have curves and I LOVE that!

I'm a Google Girl, In a Google World...

I know I'm a Google Girl, but this is too cute:

Yahoo! Avatars

And it begins...

It's finally come time for me to start a weight-loss blog. A few weeks back, I realized that I can't live like this anymore. I started SparkPeople to help me "learn healthy habits" instead of just "dieting" and I'm actually enjoying it!

Unfortunately, I fell off the wagon last week. I want to start this blog to help keep myself accountable to myself and also as a personal forum for this journey. Somewhere that I can document, atleast for ME, what I'm doing, how I'm feeling, what's working, what's not working, etc. And who knows, maybe I may help someone else in addition :)
