Weekends are EVIL! They're my kryptonite. Once I get out of work on Friday - anything goes.
I started out saying that I'd give myself 1 free day a week. Then I realized that I'd miss out on our traditional pizza and Stargate night. So I gave myself Friday off. But I'd forgotten our sausage biscuit tradition on Saturday mornings. *ARG* Then it evolved into the whole damn weekend.
That's not good.

Oh MAN I know exactly what you mean!
Unfortunately for me, the best way I manage to control my eating on weekends is to sleep in enough so that I completely sleep past breakfast and can live off two big meals during the day. Not good, I know.
I tried giving myself one free day a week when I was on Body For Life, though I did find that it undid a lot of the work I did during the week - since I went overboard and treated it as a weekly binge. So now I just eat a treat when I feel like it. Whatever floats your boat. :)
Weekends are tough. More temptations. Can you make a healthier version of the sausage biscuit tradition for yourself? Maybe try the Morningstar Sausage? Baby steps.
Good luck!
LOL, that's easy to do when you have a free pass to chow.
Maybe you could try giving yourself a slightly higher calorie limit on the weekends and lower the weekdays a bit, like M-F: 1600 and Sat-Sun: 2200.
I have actually been having the opposite problem. I eat more during the work week because I am so used to eating at my desk ALL DAY LONG. I'm glad I found blogging because otherwise it would be hard to stop eating at my desk like that.
I hear you, and I know I'm not a help. I also am starting a health-improvement plan and I too have weekends made of solid Kryptonite.
I can do better, though. Baby steps indeed, water is one that I need to work on achieving.
BABY STEPS FOR THE BOTH OF US!
Weekends are absolutely EVIL! It is so much easier for me to control what I eat when I bring little baggies of food (Cheerios, baby carrots, pretzels) to work with me (even though the Pop Tarts call my name from the vending machine).
The only thing worse that weekends are restaurants!
Whatever you do, don't lose your traditions. Those are the things that make life worthwhile.
